It Barked at Me

The snow's all gone now.
Bits of gravel, new-blown pine needles, and stray bark litter the driveway.
While getting ready to sweep it up, I looked down and saw this:

A bit o' bark in the perfect shape of a heart!

Too much!
I had to get a closer look.

Gee, Thanks!

A dear friend of mine sent me a gift
that made me laugh and laugh and laugh.

It deserved a special kind of thanks.

So I had a great excuse
to dig out a pattern, some floss and my embroidery needles.

Because she made my day!

Wind Chime

I've had this wind chime for nearly 22 years.
But until last week,
it didn't register with me that the weight is the shape of a heart.
Since beginning this blog, I've become more entuned to hearts.

Windy Heart

Valentine Hearts

Yesterday was Valentine's Day.

I made these cards for my family.

The idea came from Pinterest.

Pot o' Love

This pretty bowl was giving to me by Jodie for my birthday. It has a nice story.

Students in art classes sometimes abandon their projects before they're completed. Rather than trashing them, professional artists adopt them, finish them, mark them, and then sell them at the "Lonesome Pottery Sale."

The proceeds go toward purchasing new art materials for the school.

And lucky people, like me, get to have beautiful art to display at home. I love the subtle colors and, of course, the heart shape.

Personalized Mug

When Jodie was visiting at Thanksgiving, we took some time to do this craft.

Take a plain ceramic mug.

Create a design on it using permanent markers.

Bake for 30 minutes in a pre-heated 350 degree oven.

Jodie made a special set for a Secret Santa project.

We found the idea on Pinterest, who got it from the Home Made Simple website.
